Hoshizaki, Simpson Named to Pac-10 Softball All-Academic First Team

WALNUT CREEK, CA - UCLA junior pinch runners Julie Hoshizaki and Amanda Simpson were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic First Team for Softball, it was announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. Both players are juniors who primarily served as pinch runners for the 2003 NCAA Champion Bruins, but both did see action in the outfield this past season.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant substitute. Following are the 2003 All-Academic teams for softball:
