Reddinger Earns Pac-10 Academic Honor

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- - Junior catcher Brandon Reddinger (Kennewick, Kamiakin High) heads a list of four Washington State University baseball players named this week to the Pacific-10 Conference academic team, according to Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen.

Reddinger was named to the league's first team for the second straight year. A general business major, Reddinger boasts a 3.71 grade point average. This year Reddinger appeared in 33 of WSU's 56 games, sharing catching duties with Jon Baeder.

Three other members of the Cougar baseball team received honorable mention recognition, pitcher Garrett Alwert (Puyallup, Bethel High), infielder Bruce Jacobsen (Minden, Nev., Douglas High) and pitcher-utility player Jamin Svendsen (Yakima, Eisenhower High).

Alwert, also a junior and a member of the team for two straight years, has a 3.04 GPA in management information systems, while Jasobsen, a recent graduate, is a history major with a 3.12 GPA. Svendsen, a junior, is a communications major at WSU with a 3.02 GPA.>P?
