Euhus Selected as John Mackey Award Contender

CORVALLIS - Tim Euhus, Oregon State senior tight end, has been selected as one of 22 preseason contenders for the John Mackey Award for the best collegiate tight end in Division 1-A, it was announced Thursday by The Nassau County Sports Commission.

The winner of the Award will be announced in early December.

The John Mackey Award was created by the NCSC under the guidance of board member Don McPherson, a Nassau County native and former NFL and Syracuse University All-American quarterback. Mackey, also a Nassau County native, is regarded as one of the best athletes to have played the position of tight end. Mackey is a NFL Hall of Famer and was the first President of the NFLPA.
