Lillibridge Makes USA Baseball National Team

TUCSON, Ariz. - Brent Lillibridge, a freshman last spring on the Washington baseball teamhas been named to the USA Baseball national team, the organization announced todayafter cuts were made.
Lillibridge, who played center field for the Huskies last season but will likelyplay shortstop next spring, led the UW with a .388 batting average in 2003. Thefirst-team All-Pac-10 selection also set a Washington freshman record with 13 homers.
The USA National Team begins play July 2, when it opens a series of games vs.Japan in Durham, N.C. The team will also host Mexico in a series of games later in thesummer before taking part in the Pan-American Games in the Dominican Republic.
Lillibridge, an Everett native and graduate of Jackson High, is the first UW playerto make the national team since 1997, when Chris Magruder played.
