OSU's Recruting Class Ranked 15th By College Soccer News

For the second year in a row, the Oregon State men's soccer program's recruiting class has been ranked among the nation's top 20 by College Soccer News. The publication picked OSU's class of 2003 the 15th-best in the country.

The publication took in to consideration seven OSU signees, and in the interim, head coach Dana Taylor added seven more student-athletes, including Matt Bowman (defense), Steven Clayton (defense), Matt Fitchett (goal), Tyler Hannum (forward), Chris Ritter (midfield) and Evan Turner (midfield).

OSU came in ahead of Pacific-10 rivals California (No. 24) and Washington (No. 28) in the 2003 recruiting rankings, as well as topping non-conference opponents Boston University (No. 17), San Diego (No. 18) and Portland (No. 40).

Last year, OSU's class was rated 20th, and helped the Beavers to a school-record 13 wins en route to the first postseason appearance in school history.

OSU begins its 2003 slate with four road games, beginning Aug. 29 at San Diego State. The Beavers' first home matches are Sept. 12 and 14 against Gonzaga and St. Mary's, as the Beavers host the Diadora Classic.
