Johnson Tied for Sixth at Sahalee Players Championship

UCLA senior Travis Johnson is tied for sixth after the first round at the Sahalee Players Championship at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, WA.

Johnson posted an even par round of 72 on Wednesday and trails Conner Robbins of the University of Washington by four strokes. Robbins is the tournament leader after firing a four-under par 68 in the opening round.

Australia's Richard Moir is second at 69, and Derek Abel of Plano, TX, is third at two-under par 70.

UCLA seniors Roy Moon and John Merrick posted rounds of 74 and 77, respectively, on a day when just five of the 44 players in the field beat par.

The field will be cut to the Top 20 players following Friday's third round. The final round is Saturday.
