Brown Featured On Hendricks Watch List

July 29, 2003

PULLMAN, Wash. --- Washington State senior Isaac Brown was one of 29 players named to the preseason watch list for the 2003 Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award Monday.

Brown enters his final campaign at WSU with 19.5 career sacks, good for third on the school's all-time list. The Upland, Calif., native has also racked up 24 tackles for loss, including nine in 2002 and 12 in 2001.

On-field performance, leadership abilities, and contributions to the school and community are the criteria that the Ted Hendricks Foundation will use to determine the award's winner. Last season, Arizona State's Terrell Suggs captured the honor after recording 24 sacks.

Brown is expected to start alongside three other Cougar seniors, tackles Jeremey Williams and Faafetai Tupai, and end D.D. Acholonu, on Washington State's defensive front four. They have combined for 79.5 tackles for loss and 28 sacks in their careers.

The Cougars open the 2003 season Aug. 30 at Seattle's Seahawk Stadium against Idaho.
