Cal's Football Fan Appreciation Day -- Aug. 16th

Aug. 4, 2003

Cal football's 2003 Fan Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2003, at Memorial Stadium. The event runs from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, and will give fans of all ages a chance to meet and receive autographs from players such as All Pac-10 performers Lorenzo Alexander, Mike McGrath, and Mark Wilson, as well as star wide receivers Jonathon Makonnen and Geoff MacAuthur.

Admission for this event is free, and will give kids, and those who are still kids at heart a chance to participate in interactive drills, games and other fun activities. Rally Com and an assortment of Cal's spirit groups will also be performing during the afternoon, including a special guest appearance by the Golden Bear himself, Oski.

One of the many highlights of the day will be the public unveiling of Memorial Stadium's new playing surface, Momentum Turf. There will be an informative presentation about the Bear's new lair during the day's event. It is only fitting for the Bears to have a new-look field for all the new and young faces that will be occupying it this fall. With the departure of 23 seniors, Cal will rely on its youth and increased athletic ability to take on one of the toughest schedules in the country, which includes 10 bowl teams from a year ago.

Pac - 10 Coach of the Year, Jeff Tedford, along with the rest of the Cal football family look forward to giving back and expressing gratitude to the program's loyal fans and surrounding community. Please come out and celebrate the beginning of yet another momentous season, a year that is sure to leave fans on the edge of their seats.
