Woodward Joins Husky Sports Network

Aug. 6, 2003

Seattle, WA - Elise Woodward will join the football broadcast team for the Husky Sports Network this fall as a sideline reporter and host of the postgame lockerroom show. Her debut will be delayed until the second half of the season since she is expecting her first child this fall. During her absence, Steve Sandmeyer will handle those broadcasting duties.

Both Woodward and Sandmeyer work as radio personalities on KJR-AM, the flagship station for Washington football and men's basketball. Woodward has worked as a college basketball analyst, reporter and magazine show host for Fox Sports Northwest Net in the past. She was a four-time letterwinner from 1994-97 for the Husky women's basketball team.

Sandmeyer has been the play-by-play voice for the Husky women's basketball team for the past four seasons. Last year he hosted the pregame show for KJR-AM.

Sandmeyer and Woodward replace longtime sideline and lockerroom host Bill Swartz, who now works for KIRO-Radio in Seattle.

Bob Rondeau and Chuck Nelson will once again call the action from the broadcast booth as the network's play-by-play announcer and analyst.

Washington's radio broadcast rights are owned by Action Sports Media and its partner, The Sporting News Radio Network.
