Two Former OSU Men's Rowers Competing For U.S. Teams

Aug. 7, 2003

Former Oregon State men's rowers Joey Hansen and Patrick O'Hea will represent the United States in international competition this summer.

Hansen, a 2001 OSU graduate and three-time U.S. National Team member, will row in the men's eight at the World Championships in Milan, Italy August 24-31. As a member of last year's men's eight, Hansen helped the boat to a bronze medal at the World Championships.

While at OSU, Hansen was a three-time first-team All-Pacific-10 selection.

O'Hea is currently rowing in the men's quad at the Pan-American Games on Rincon Lake, outside of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. O'Hea's boat is in the six-boat final; racing ends August 10.

O'Hea earned two letters at OSU from 1998-99.
