Former Swimmer Staciana Stitts Earns Gold Medal at Pan Am Games

Former University of California swimmer and Olympic gold medallist Staciana Stitts won a gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic last Wednesday.
Stitts, who swam a meet record time of 1:09.01 for the victory, finished her career at Cal as the Golden Bears' record-holder in both the 100 and 200 breast. She was also a member of Cal's top 200 and 400 medley relay teams.
Stitts, who helped the United State's 400 medley relay team to a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, also took gold in the 100m breast at the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
