Football Practice Once Again Moved To Payson

Aug. 19, 2003

Due to the biggest thunderstorm this week at Camp Tontozona, Wednesday morning's workout for the Arizona State University football team will be moved to Payson's Rumsey Park.

The storm hit the Camp Tontozona area late Tuesday afternoon and lasted about one hour. Water is standing on the field in several areas as a result of the storm. The rain was very heavy and consistent. Hail and heavy winds accompanied the storm.

The Sun Devils will practice at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning in Payson. In six days since departing Tempe last Friday, ASU has practiced at Camp Tontozona just once.
