Aug. 19, 2003

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State football squad elected four members of the team to serve as team captains for the 2003 season, it was announced Tuesday by Head Coach Mike Riley.

Three seniors, wide receiver James Newson, middle linebacker Richard Seigler and defensive tackle Dwan Edwards will join junior tailback Steven Jackson as the Beavers' elected team captains.

Seigler and Newson were also captains during the 2002 season.

Bob Foreman of Salem and Scott Lesser of Portland have been contracted as 'Corporate Relations Mangers' to sell group and corporate tickets, according to Kevin Anderson, executive associate athletic director.

'The emphasis for these two will be to expand our relationships with group and corporate sales toward the Raising Reser football stadium expansion and the packaging of our basketball programs,' said Anderson. 'Our football success, basketball progress and the on-campus experience all help make OSU athletics a great family and business entertainment value.'

Foreman has been a Beaver for a quarter century and worked for OSU previously in several capacities. 'His statewide contacts through School Calendar Company, OSAA and his work for OSU athletics in the past made him a natural choice for one of these positions.' Lesser, a 2000 graduate of Oregon State, most recently has been the director of development for the Oregon Sports Authority.

'Scott's ties to the companies associated with the Oregon Sports Authority and his successful work in Portland gives us an added boost with the Metro area we value so much in our expansion of Beaver Nation,' said Anderson
