Dan Westcott Takes Silver In World University Games 100 Meter Back

Daegu, South Korea - Stanford men's swimmer Dan Westcott (The Woodlands, TX) earned a silver medal with a second place finish in the men's 100 meter back at the 2003 World University Games on Thursday. Westcott clocked in at 55.35 after qualifying fourth for the evening finals session with a time of 56.23 in the morning prelims. The medal was the fourth career international and second of the 2003 World University Games for Westcott, who had captured a gold in the 50 meter back on Tuesday.
'I was really happy with my race, and I visualized just the way I wanted to get it done,' said Westcott.
The U.S. men won three medals on Thursday, bringing the team's total to 13 through the first four days of competition.
