THIS WEEK: The Oregon State University women's golf team opens the 2003-2004 season at The Northwest Invite, which will take place at the Woodlands Golf Course in Sunriver, Oregon. The tournament begins Monday, Sept. 15 and concludes Tuesday, Sept. 16. Teams tee off at 8:30 a.m. each morning with a shotgun start; 36 holes are scheduled to be played Monday and 18 Tuesday for a total of 54. Teams will consist of five members, with the lowest four scores counting toward the team total

THE FIELD: Fifteen teams are slated to participate in the tournament. Joining Oregon State will be fellow Pac-10 Conference member Washington State, along with Long Beach State, Portland State, UNLV, UC-Riverside, San Jose State, San Francisco, Eastern Washington, Boise State, Idaho, UC-Irvine, Weber State, Portland and TCU.

THE WOODLANDS: The Woodlands Golf Course, in Sunriver, Ore., hosts the tournament, and will carry a par of 72 and play to 6,100 yards.

LAST YEAR: California is the two-time defending champion at the Northwest Invite, winning last year with a total score of 884. Idaho's Nicole Keller was the individual medalist, posting a total of 214. Last year's tournament was held at OSU's home course, Trysting Tree Golf Club, in Corvallis.

PAIRINGS FOR ROUNDS ONE AND TWO: 1. Oregon State, TCU, UC-Irvine; 2. San Francisco, Washington State and Idaho; 3. Long Beach State, Portland State and UC-Riverside; 4. UNLV, San Jose State and Weber State; 5. Portland, Eastern Washington and Boise State; 6. Oregon State 'B' and San Jose State individual.
