No. 7 Penn State Roars Back For 3-2 Win Against No. 15 USC

LOS ANGELES - Joanna Lohman scored two goals Friday, including the game-winner in the 86th minute, and the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the No. 15 USC Trojans, 3-2, at the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic in Charlottesville, Va. The Women of Troy had tied the game in the 81st minute on a long free kick by defender Amanda Roach.

Lohman scored the first of her two goals in the 18th minute for the only scoring in the first half. USC tied the game in the 52nd minute on midfielder Megan Abbamonto's first goal of the season off assists from Jessica Edwards and Ashley Casas. Tiffany Weimer put Penn State ahead again, 2-1, in the 65th minute off an assist from Lohman.

USC will face host No. 8 Virginia on Sunday (Sept. 14) at 1:30 p.m. ET.
