Zanda Bautre Named pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WASHINGTON STATE'S ZANDA BAUTRE NAMED PAC-10 VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--WASHINGTON STATE outside hitter Zanda Bautre has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 8- Sept. 14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Bautre, a senior from Riga, Latvia, earned all-tournament honors at the Cougar Mania Tournament last weekend. With setter Brenn Larson out with an injury, Bautre set for the first time in her career as WSU ran a 6-2 offense. The senior co-captain, posted 41 kills (3.73 kpg) on 94 attacks with only 12 errors to hit .309 in the three matches. She also tallied 69 assists (6.27 apg), 40 digs (3.64 dpg) and picked up 44 points.
The Cougars were 2-1 last week, including an upset of #22 Loyola Marymount (USA Today/AVCA Coaches poll). Washington State begins Pac-10 Conference play this week with matches against Arizona and Arizona State.
This is the first weekly honor for Bautre, and the Cougars' 19th Player of the Week honor all time
