Women's Tennis Hosts Cougar Classic

THIS WEEK: The Washington State women's tennis team hosts the 12th Annual Cougar Classic Sept. 19-20. Friday will consist of two rounds of singles play and two round of doubles. Saturday will have one or two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.

OTHER TEAMS IN THE FIELD: The Cougar Classic is hosting six area teams this weekend. Joining Washington State in the Classic will be Boise State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Montana, Montana State and Wyoming.

HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'The Cougar Classic is a great tradition at Washington State. I am excited about the weekend because our players finally have a chance to compete against athletes from other schools. We have been working hard and have had some tough competition in practice, but there is nothing like playing against someone in another color uniform.'

UP NEXT: The Cougars will travel to Provo, Utah to compete in the BYU Invitational Sept 25-27.

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The WSU Cougars finished last season at No. 51 in the ITA rankings. Junior Orsolya Sallai is ranked No. 78 in the ITA Preseason poll. Senior Lorena Arias and Junior Chris Martinez are ranked No. 41 in doubles.
