Arizona Volleyball Falls in Five to Washington

Seattle, Wash. - The No. 16 ranked Arizona volleyball team fell to Washington, 3-2, in Seattle, Wash., Friday night. Game scores of the match were 22-30, 18-30, 30-25, 30-24, 10-15. With the loss, Arizona drops to 6-6 overall and 0-2 in the Pac-10.

Arizona, which hit .237, could not match Washington who hit.329. Sophomore Kim Glass paced the team with her seventh 20 plus- kill match of the season, finishing with 22 kills on 61 swings, with 10 errors. Sophomore Bre Ladd contributed 15 kills on .242 hitting percentage, while sophomore Jennifer Abernathy added 10 kills.

Freshman Stephanie Butkus tallied 47 assists for the night, along with 3 kills. Junior Kelli Mulvany led the team in digs, gophering 18 in the match.

Arizona will next play Arizona State on Friday, Sept. 26, in Tempe, Ariz. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
