No. 21 USC And UC Irvine Play To Scoreless 0-0 Tie

Sept. 21, 2003

LOS ANGELES - Despite a 15-4 margin in shots, the No. 21 USC Trojans and UC Irvine Anteaters played to a scoreless 0-0 tie in non-conference women's soccer action at McAlister Field. USC is now 7-0-2 in the last nine meetings against UC Irvine.

USC is now 3-3-2 on the season while UC Irvine is 5-2-2.

After both teams registered four shots in the first half, USC outshot UCI by an 11-0 margin for the remainder of the game.

'I was disappointed that we didn't put a better effort in the first half,' said USC head coach Jim Millinder. 'I thought we wore them down as the game progressed, but you have to give UC Irvine a lot of credit. We just didn't finish our chances and now every game counts for us.'

The Women of Troy will play the next three games on the road, beginning on Friday (Sept. 26) at Santa Clara at 7 p.m.
