Women's Golf Ranked 19th in <i>Golf World</i> Preseason Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's golf team will begin the 2003-04 campaign ranked in the national top 20, coming in at 19th in Golf World's preseason coaches poll. Sophomore Alissa Kuczka (77.03 avg.) and junior Erin Tone (78.67 avg.) are the top returners for the squad, which begins the 2003-04 season Thursday-Saturday at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.

Returning letterwinners on this year's team include Kuczka, Tone, senior Beatriz 'Cucu' Conti, senior Lisa Desimone, junior Josefin Gustafsson, sophomore Sarah Jones, junior Jamie Michard and redshirt freshman Danelle Perata.

Four newcomers join the squad including freshmen Lindsay Anderson (El Paso, Texas), Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) and Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) as well as junior Nicole Deacon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) who transferred to ASU from San Jose State.

Arizona State was also ranked 29th in the preseason Golfweek poll.
