Tennis Team heads to Provo, Utah for BYU Invitational

THIS WEEK: The Washington State women's tennis team heads to Provo, Utah for the Brigham Young University Invitational Sept. 25-27. Other teams competing in the tournament include Boise State, Colorado State, Utah, Utah State and Weber State.

HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'I was impressed with the overall fight of our team last weekend. Many players showed excellent character as they battled back from being down to beat their opponents. The BYU tournament will pose more challenges for us and I'm looking forward to it.'

LAST WEEK: The Cougars captured five of six singles championships and added a pair of runner-up finishes in the 12th Annual Cougar Classic Tournament. WSU won five out of six singles championships. Lorena Arias, Nelly Dvornicka, Zsofia Fodor, Chris Martinez, and Zorana Roganovic all captured titles in their brackets, respectively. Amy Toth and Nora Gaal posted runner-up finishes in singles play.

UP NEXT: The Cougars will travel to Pacific Palisades, Calif. for the All-American Invitational Oct. 9-12.

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The WSU Cougars finished last season at No. 51 in the ITA rankings. Junior Orsolya Sallai is ranked No. 78 in the ITA Preseason poll. Senior Lorena Arias and junior Chris Martinez are ranked No. 41 in doubles.
