Pac-10 men's soccer teams get their final chances to tune up for Conference play this weekend... The undefeated WASHINGTON Huskies host Kentucky and South Carolina in the 2003 Husky Fever Classic... Washington last began the season unbeaten through its first five games in 1998, when it started 7-0... The STANFORD Cardinal plays its first home matches of the season this weekend, with CALIFORNIA, UC Irvine and Fairleigh Dickinson competing in the Stanford Tournament... Winners of three straight, the UCLA Bruins host cross-town rival Loyola Marymount... FRESNO STATE, which reeled off back-to-back wins last weekend, takes a Bay Area road trip for matches with Saint Mary's and San Francisco... OREGON STATE is at Holy Cross.

FRESNO STATE sophomore goalkeeper Eric Kronberg has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 16-22.

Kronberg, from Santa Rosa, Calif., registered his first career shutout to lead Fresno State to a 2-0 victory over Alabama A&M as the Bulldogs clinched the title at their own Goal Rush Classic Sept. 21. He recorded seven saves, including six in the second half, to earn Tournament Defensive MVP honors. Kronberg also tallied four saves in Fresno State's 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Gonzaga on Sept. 19.

On the weekend, he allowed just one goal while making 11 stops, helping the Bulldogs to their first Goal Rush Classic title since 1998. Fresno State (2-4-0 overall) travels to the Bay Area this weekend for matches at Saint Mary's (Sept. 26) and San Francisco (Sept. 28).

This is the first weekly honor for Kronberg and the second all-time Player of the Week honor for Fresno State.

CALIFORNIA: The Bears stretched their unbeaten streak to four games with a 2-1 win over Saint Mary's on Sept. 20... JR MF Noah Merl and JR F Carl Acosta scored goals just three minutes apart in the second half... The goal was Acosta's fifth in the last seven games... The Bears head to Stanford this weekend for the Stanford Invitational Tournament.

FRESNO STATE: The Bulldogs snapped a four-match losing streak with a 2-1 win over Gonzaga on Sept. 19, then followed with a 2-0 victory over Alabama A&M on Sept. 21... With the wins, Fresno State clinched its the tournament title at its own Goal Rush Classic... FR GK Eric Kronberg registered his first career shutout in the win over Alabama A&M... Kronberg was named Defensive MVP of the tournament, making 11 stops and allowing just one goal on the weekend... The Bulldogs compete at Saint Mary's and San Francisco this weekend.

OREGON STATE: FR F Robbie Findley and SR F Alan Gordon each scored two goals on the weekend to help the Beavers to a 1-1-0 record at the Rhode Island Lighthouse Inn/Kappa Classic... OSU fell 201 to Boston University and outlasted URI 4-3 in double-overtime... SO F Ryan Johnson tied a school record with three assists, including the setup on the game-winner, against Rhode Island... Findley paces the team with 13 points (6 goals/1 assist) on the season... OSU concludes non-conference play at Holy Cross on Wednesday.

STANFORD: The Cardinal fell to host Tulsa and played No. 8 Southern Methodist to a scoreless tie last week... The tie with the Mustangs snapped Stanford's four-game losing skid... FR GK Andrew Kartunen recorded a career-high 14 saves and his first collegiate shutout against SMU... JR F Matt Janusz took a team-high three shots in the 2-0 loss to Tulsa... The Cardinal makes its 2003 home debut this weekend, when it hosts the Stanford/Nike Invitational presented by the Creekside Inn.

UCLA: FR MF Benny Feilhaber scored his first career goal in the 58th minute, which proved to be the game-winner, in the Bruins' 2-0 win over Portland... The shutout was the Bruins' fourth on the season... UCLA has won three in a row heading into its last non-conference tilt before beginning Pac-10 play... The Bruins host Loyola Marymount Saturday night... The duo of SR F Matt Taylor and FR F Chad Barrett has combined to score 11 of UCLA's 17 goals this season.

WASHINGTON: The Huskies won the Marquette Tournament with a 2-0 record, defeating Michigan 3-2 and the host Golden Eagles 2-1... UW scored twice in the first five minutes against Marquette... JR MF C.J. Klaas was named Tournament MVP, scored in the third minute and assisted on the Huskies' second goal, two minutes later... Washington, the winner of three straight, remains unbeaten through its first five matches... UW returns home this weekend to host the Husky Fever Classic with Kentucky, South Carolina and Portland.
