Sept. 24, 2003
STANFORD, Calif. - The 2003-04 Stanford women's basketball schedule highlights four Fox Sports Net national broadcasts and eight opponents that saw action in NCAA post-season play last season. The Cardinal return all five starters and 11 letterwinners from a 2002-03 squad that won the Pac-10 Conference regular season and conference titles.
Stanford's non-conference schedule features home games against Georgia (Nov. 30) and Tennessee (Dec. 14). The Lady Volunteers made an appearance in last year's NCAA Final Four and took first place in the Southeastern Conference. The Lady Bulldogs finished last season with a 21-10 record and saw action in the NCAA Sweet 16.
The Cardinal's conference schedule opens with Oregon State at Maples Pavilion on Dec. 27. Last season, Stanford tallied an 18-3 record against conference opponents and was crowned the Pac-10 Conference Champion. Washington and Arizona competed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Arizona State appeared in second-round play, and Oregon State wrapped up the season after an NIT invite.
Fox Sports Net will broadcast Stanford's home game against Tennessee and road games at Texas Tech, Arizona State and Oregon State.
The Cardinal open the 2003-04 season with the Love and Basketball exhibition game at Maples Pavilion on Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.
