Women's Golf Tied For Fifth After First Day Of Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Arizona State women's golf team is tied for fifth-place overall after day one of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico after the team scored a 17-over 309. Leading the way for the Sun Devils is sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.), who shot a one-over 74 during her first round of play and is in a tie for eighth-place.

To open their season, ASU featured a lineup of three freshmen, one sophomore and one junior. Junior Jamie Michaud (University Place, Wash.) and redshirt-freshman Danelle Perata (Vacaville, Calif.) each turned in a four-over 77 and are tied for 26th-place. Freshmen Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) and Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) are tied for 61st-place after each carded an eight-over 81.

Participants play 18 holes each day on the par 73, 6,069-yard UNM Championship Course, with ASU's tee times beginning at 9:20 a.m. on Friday. The team standings are as follows after day one:
