Women's Golf in Fifth Place at Mason Rudolph Invitational

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Arizona women's golf team stands in fifth place Saturday after its second day of competition at the Mason Rudolph Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.

The Wildcats stand in fifth place after shooting 12-over-par 588. Arizona trails second round leader UCLA by 12 strokes after the bruins shot a 7-over-par 295 on Saturday. Georgia (581) and Auburn (585) occupy second and third places, respectively. Tournament-host Vanderbilt holds fourth with an 11-over-par 587.

Individually Arizona sophomore Erica Blasberg is atop the leaderboard, after shooting a second round 139 (-5). The native of Corona, Calif. returned to the tournament where her sensational freshman season took off. Blasberg finished second, which was the first of nine consecutive top ten, finishes including two victories.

Junior Mar Garcia is tied at 16th after shooting 3-over-par 147 in round two. Sophomore Cassandra Kirkland is tied for 38th at 7-over-par 151. Sophomore Lani Elston is tied for 43rd after shooting 8-over-par 152. Sophomore Whitney Welch tied for 46th after shooting 9-over-par 153.

Also competing for Arizona as an individual is junior Miriam Kraschinski is tied at 53rd place after carding 10-over-par 154.

The Wildcats will tee off in Sunday's final round beginning at 8:00 a.m. CST. The tournament is being played at the Legends Club of Tennessee, a par 72, 6,276-yard layout.
