Women Of Troy Battle To Scoreless Tie At Loyola Marymount

Sept. 28, 2003

LOS ANGELES - The No. 23 USC Trojans and Loyola Marymount Lions played to a scoreless 0-0 tie Sunday in a non-conference game at Sullivan Field on the Loyola Marymount campus. Junior goalie Julie Peterson made four saves to record her fourth shutout of the season.

USC is now 4-3-3 on the season while Loyola Marymount is 5-2-3 overall.

'We exerted a lot of energy in Friday's win at Santa Clara and we looked tired today,' said USC head coach Jim Millinder. 'I thought Loyola Marymount did a good job of getting in behind us. Overall, it was a hard fought match today.'

The Women of Troy travels to BYU on Friday (Oct. 4) for a 7:30 p.m. contest. It will be the final non-conference match before the start of Pac-10 Conference play for the Trojans.
