Women's Golf Places Ninth At Mason Rudolph Championship

Franklin, Tenn. - The No. 14 USC women's golf team shot a 27-over-par 901 to finish ninth this past weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championships held at the Legends Club.

USC shot 298 in the first round, 297 in the second round and 306 in the final round to finish 27 strokes behind tourney champ Georgia (874). UCLA was second (878), Vanderbilt was third (886), Florida was fourth (889) and Arizona was fifth (891).

Senior Rachel Bell was the high finisher for the Women of Troy. She shot a nine-over 222 to tie for 17th. She was nine strokes behind Erica Blasberg of Arizona (213), who won the individual crown. Sarah Johnston of Furman was second (214) and Sarah Jacobs of Vanderbilt was third (215).

Also for USC, sophomore Irene Cho tied for 28th (226), freshman Veronica Felibert tied for 33rd (227, including a second-round 68), sophomore Tanya Dergal tied for 46th (232) and senior Anna Rawson tied for 50th (233).

The Women of Troy--the defending NCAA Champions--are next in action at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash., on Oct. 6-8.
