Brundage Is Minors' Top Manager

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - Former Oregon State player Dave Brundage has been named Minor League Manager of the Year by Baseball America magazine. Brundage managed the Seattle Mariners' Class AA team in San Antonio to its second straight Texas League championship in 2003, going 88-51.
In three years with the Missions, Brundage is 227-191 (.543). He was also named Texas League manager of the year this season.
Brundage played at Oregon State from 1984-86, helping the Beavers into the NCAA tournament in 1985 and 1986 as a pitcher and outfielder. He earned All-America honors in his final season, batting .366 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs while going 8-4 with a 3.19 earned run average. He was the fourth-round draft choice of the Philadelphia Phillies.
