Trojans Finish 17th At Carpet Capital Collegiate

Rock Face, GA - The USC men's golf team finished strong in the third round but wound up with a total of 900 through 54 holes to place 17th at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Classic held at The Farm Golf Club.
The Trojans shot their second-lowest round of the season in the final 18 holes with a 289, but ended up 47 strokes behind tourney champion Florida (853). Texas and Clemson tied for second (858), while Georgia was fourth (863) and Georgia Tech was fifth (864).
Freshman Joshua Wooding led the Trojans, shooting 218 to tie for 25th. That effort included a final-round 65. Jason Hartwick of Texas was first at 203, followed by Eirik Johansen of South Carolina (208) and James Heath of Augusta State and Matt Hendrix of Clemson (209).
USC is next in action at The Nelson Invitational in Stanford, Calif., on Oct. 24-26.
