UCLA'S Brynn Murphy Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.- UCLA middle blocker Brynn Murphy has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 5, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Murphy, a junior from Coronado, Calif., posted 43 kills (4.30 kpg) on 112 attack attempts with 13 errors (.268) as UCLA won a pair of five-game matches on the road in Washington. While Murphy hit .268 over the two matches, the rest of the team managed to hit .166. In the win over Washington State, Murphy recorded a career-high 21 kills with 11 digs. One night later at Washington, she upped her personal-best with 22 kills, while adding five digs and three blocks. For the two matches, she tallied 48.5 points (48.5 ppg).

This is the first weekly honor for Murphy, UCLA's 45th Player of the Week honor all-time.
