Veress, Niland Advance

Oct. 7, 2003

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Balazs Veress, with the help of doubles partner, Conor Niland, was able to bounce back after an early morning loss in singles competition at the 2003 ITA All-American Championship.

Veress dropped his opening-round match earlier today against Thomas Schoedk of Boise State in a very close match. Veress got his revenge in his second match of the day, as he and Niland sweated out a victory against stiff competition.

The two defeated Sean Kelleher and Stephan Ward of William & Mary by a final tally of 9-8. The Cal duo will move on to compete tomorrow in the round of 16. Veress and Niland will face Joey Atlas and Jeremy Wurtzman of Ohio State at 11:00 am central time.
