Women's Golf In 10th At Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate After Day Two

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's split women's golf squads are faring similarly in their respective tournaments after the second day of play at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M., and the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Redmond, Wash. The five Sun Devils in New Mexico find themselves in 10th-place heading into the final day of play while the five in Washington are in 11th-place.

The Sun Devils (310+314=624) are 48-over as a group at the Price's Give 'Em Five, with sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) leading the way tied for 12th at seven-over (75+76=151). Sophomore Sara Jones (Valencia, Calif.) remains one-stroke behind Kuczka and is in 18th at eight-over (76+76=152). The rest of ASU's representatives are also clustered together with freshman Lindsay Anderson (El Paso, Texas) in 57th at 18-over (78+84=162), junior Nicole Deacon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) in 64th at 19-over (81+82=163) and freshman Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) in 71st at 20-over (84+80=164).

The University of Oklahoma leads the teams standings with a combined 22-over (293+305=598), four better than Louisiana State. The individual lead is shared by Christine Boucher of Kansas State (75+71=146) and Kim Kolb of Texas Tech (74+72=146) who sit at two-over par.

At the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, ASU sits in 11th as a team (306+322=628) at 52-over par. Freshman Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) shot seven strokes better on day two and leads the Sun Devils with an 11-over (81+74=155), tying her for 34th. One stroke behind her is junior Josefin Gustafsson (Falkoping, Sweden) in 39th (73+83=156) with junior Erin Tone (Gilbert, Ariz.) still a further stroke back in 43rd (74+83=157). Rounding out ASU's contestants on the leaderboard are senior Beatriz Conti (Caracas, Venezuela) and junior Jamie Michaud (University Place, Wash.). Conti is 20-over in 61st-place (82+82=164) while Michaud is 28-over in 75th-place (78+94=172).

California owns the team lead in Redmond with one round to go. The Golden Bears are 15-over par through the first two days (285+306=591) and also claim the individual leader in Anna Temple at two-under (70+72=142).
