Bears Prepare to Host Alister Mackenzie Invitational

Berkeley, Calif. - California will host the second annual Alister Mackenzie Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, Oct 13-14 at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.

The field for this event includes some of the nations best collegiate golf teams. No. 4 California will send a team out that finished second at the Husky Invitational over last weekend and won the Mid Pines Intercollegiate on Sept. 8-9. Joining the Bears at this event are Fresno State, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada-Reno, UNC Greensboro, Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, Purdue, San Jose State, Stanford, UC Irvine, UCLA, and USF.

Inaugural defending champion, Fresno State, looks to repeat its team and individual titles. The Bulldogs Nick Watney shot a 202 (-9) to win last year.

The Alister Mackenzie Invitational is a 54-hole tournament, with 36 holes played on Monday Oct. 13 and 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Tee times start at 7:25 a.m. on Monday and 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A practice round will be held Sunday.

The Meadow Club course measures 6,585 yards and is a par-71.
