Corkery and Walburg End Competition at Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Stanford's K.C. Corkery and Sam Warburg fell out of main draw singles competition after losses on Thursday at the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships at the Champions Club.

Sophomore Corkery downed Vanderbilt's Matt Lockin in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in first-round action. Corkery faced fourth-seeded Alex Vlaski of Washington in the round of 32. The Cardinal sophomore fell 6-3, 6-2.

Junior Warburg fell to Ohio State's Jeremy Wurtzman 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of the men's singles main draw. In consolation action, Warburg faced No. 12-seeded Robert Searle of Rice. After splitting the first two sets 6-2, 5-7, Searle took the match in thethird 7-5 to knock Warburg out of competition.

Stanford's Corkery and James Pade were scheduled to compete in the doubles round on Thursday at 4 p.m., but due to rain delays they will play at a yet to be named time on Oct. 10, weather permitting.
