Erin Burdette Advances To Title Match at Riviera/ITA Championships

Pacific Palisades, Ca - Erin Burdette, a junior from Jackson, Ga, advanced to the finals on Saturday at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Tennis Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 upset victory over top-seeded Agata Cioroch of Georgia.

Burdette, seeded eleventh in the tournament, will face second-seeded Raquel Kops-Jones of California who reached the finals with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Julie Coin of Clemson.

Burdette is trying to become the third Stanford women's tennis player to win this prestigious event. Tami Whitlinger won in 1988, while Sandra Birch captured the singles titles in 1989 and 1990.
