Rosa Anna Tantillo Aids No. 25 USC In 1-0 Win Against Washington State

LOS ANGELES - Freshman Rosa Anna Tantillo (San Diego/La Jolla HS) scored her sixth goal of the season Saturday and the No. 25 USC Trojans defeated the Washington State Cougars, 1-0, in Pac-10 Conference action at McAlister Field. Tantillo scored at 69:30 off an assist from Jocelyn Leche, tucking the ball inside on WSU goalie Katie Hultin.

USC improves to 5-4-4 overall and 1-0-1 in Pac-10 Conference play while Washington State falls to 4-8-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.

Junior goalie Julie Peterson made three saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season and the 13th in her career. She needs one more shutout to tie the school career mark of 14 held by Laura Badagliacco.

USC travels to the Bay Area next weekend, playing at California on Friday (Oct. 17) at 3:30 p.m. and at Stanford on Sunday (Oct. 19) at 1 p.m.
