Erin Burdette Loses In Finals at ITA All-American Championship

Pacific Palisades, Ca - Erin Burdette, a junior from Jackson, Ga, lost a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Cal's Raquel Kops-Jones in the finals on Sunday at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Tennis Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Burdette was playing in her first national singles final and looking to become the third Cardinal player to win this tournament. Tami Whitlinger won in 1988, while Sandra Birch captured the singles titles in 1989 and 1990. Burdette beat #1 seed Agata Cioroch of Georgia in Saturday's semifinals.
