No. 22 Cal Falls to Oregon State, 2-0

The No. 22 California men's soccer team fell short against Pac-10 foe Oregon State, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Edwards Stadium. With their first conference loss of the season, the Golden Bears drop to 5-5-2 (1-1-1 Pac-10), while the Beavers stand at 9-4 (3-1 Pac-10).
Carlos Cornejo tallied OSU's first goal in the 26th minute. Assisted by Alan Gordon, Cornejo drilled the ball to left corner of the net for the early 1-0 lead.
Gordon added an insurance goal in the 80th minute for the eventual final score of 2-0. After receiving the pass from Ryan Johnson, Gordon fired to the lower left corner of the box.
Cal outshot Oregon State, 15-8, overall, including a 6-2 edge in the second half. Mike Oseguera tallied four saves for the Bears to the Beavers' netminder, Peter Billmeyer's two.
The Bears continue with Pac-10 play, next traveling to Los Angeles to face UCLA, Friday at 7 p.m.
