<b> Oregon State's Carlos Cornejo Named Pac-10 Player of the Week.</b><br>

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--OREGON STATE freshman midfielder Carlos Cornejo has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 6-13, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Cornejo, from Torrance, Calif., accounted for both game-winning goals in a pair of Oregon State victories at Stanford and California. Last week, he notched his first career goal in a 1-0 win over the Cardinal on Oct. 10. Two days later, he scored the game-winner in OSU's 2-0 win against the Golden Bears.

By pulling out two tough victories last week, the Beavers improved their record to 9-4-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the Pac-10. OSU, ranked No. 17 in this week's Soccer America poll, plays host to No. 8/7 Washington on Sunday.

This is the first weekly honor for Cornejo and the seventh all-time Player of the Week honor for the Beavers.
