Oct. 23, 2003
TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona baseball team, coming off its first NCAA postseason appearance since 1999, announced its 2004 regular season schedule today. The Wildcats are slated to play 55 games this year, including 27 at home at Frank Sancet Field.
Arizona is scheduled to take on 2003 College World Series qualifier Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, Sacramento State and UT-Pan American at home in non-conference action this season. The Wildcats will also travel to Baylor, Long Beach State and to Round Rock, Texas, for the Express College Classic for out-of-conference contests.
The 2004 season also marks the renewal of Arizona's non-conference games with rival Arizona State. The Wildcats and Sun Devils, who will play a pair of midweek non-conference contests in Tempe, have not faced each other outside of Pac-10 play since the 2000 season. Arizona will also travel to Los Angeles in May for a non-conference series against UCLA.
The Wildcats will get another crack at both the Bruins and Sun Devils in Tucson in Pac-10 series this year and will also welcome College World Series runner up Stanford and Washington State. Arizona will take to the road for conference series at Oregon State, California, Washington and USC.
