Arizona Shocks No. 19 USC, 1-0, In Pac-10 Action

LOS ANGELES - Mallory Miller scored on a line-drive, free kick Friday and the Arizona Wildcats upset the No. 19 USC Trojans, 1-0, in Pac-10 Conference action at McAlister Field. It was the Wildcats' first win against the Women of Troy in eight years with the last Arizona victory (3-2) taking place on Oct. 5, 1995, in Tucson.

Miller took a free kick from 25 yards out and delivered a shot that went past USC goalkeeper Julie Peterson into the right side of the net. Arizona (5-7-2, 1-2-1) weatherd several rallies by USC (6-6-4, 2-2-1) in the second half to earn the win in a physical contest.

Peterson made five saves in goal while Arizona's Natalie Juarez registered seven saves.

USC will host Arizona State on Sunday (Oct. 26) at 1 p.m. at McAlister Field. It will be the final regular season home game for the Women of Troy.
