LOS ANGELES - After defeating ASU on Friday, the third-ranked UCLA women's soccer team made it a clean sweep of the Arizona schools Sunday, blanking the Wildcats, 4-0 in a Pac-10 showdown at Drake Stadium. UCLA improves to 12-1-3 overall and 5-0-1 in conference play. With the loss, Arizona falls to 5-8-2 and 1-3-1 in the Pac-10.
Bruin forward Iris Mora tallied the game-winning goal for the second time in as many matches, when she scored UCLA's first goal on an assist from forward Brystin Davis. Davis ran into the box from the right side and chipped a ball to Mora, who headed it in from about seven yards out.
Mora helped create the Bruins second goal just minutes later, as she was tripped up in the box by Arizona goalkeeper Natalie Juarez. Bruin senior Whitney Jones put in the ensuing penalty kick for a 2-0 UCLA advantage.
The Bruins took a 3-0 lead in the 60th minute when Davis beat her defender inside the box and put in a right-footed blast into the right corner of the net. Davis led all Bruin players with three points on the afternoon.
UCLA junior Kim Devine capped the scoring for UCLA in the final minute of the match, as she put away a through ball up the middle sent in by Amy Fazio. Stephanie Kron was also credited with an assist on that goal.
UCLA outshot Arizona, 22-6 in the match. The Bruins also improve to 10-0 all-time against Arizona.
Bruin goalkeeper Arianna Criscione finished with four saves. Juarez made seven for Arizona.
