Stanford Burdette/Barnikow Duo Claims Doubles Title

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's top-seed pairing of senior Lauren Barnikow and junior Erin Burdette took the ITA Northwest Regional Championships doubles title on Monday at the Taube Tennis Center. With the win, the Cardinal duo earns a spot in the November 6-9 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the University of Michigan.

In semifinal action, Barnikow and Burdette defeated Stanford teammates Theresa Logar and Story Tweedie-Yates 8-2. The Cardinal faced Cal's No. 2-seeded Raquel Kops-Jones and Sasha Podkolzina in the finals and downed the Golden Bears 8-5 for title.

Stanford's Emilia Anderon and Anne Yelsey fell to Kops-Jones and Podkolzina in the semifinals 8-2. Yelsey was defeated by Podkolzina in singles semifinal action 6-0, 6-2.

Oregon's Daria Panova, seeded No. 3, claimed the singles title after a victory in three sets over Podkolzina in the finals (4-6, 7-5, 6-2).
