LOS ANGELES - With an 18-point effort from both April Ross and Emily Adams, the top-ranked USC women's volleyball team defeated No. 10 Washington, 3-0 (30-18, 30-24, 30-28), in front 709 on Halloween night at the Lyon Center. With the win, the Women of Troy improve to 21-0 overall and 12-0 in the Pac-10.
The Huskies, led by former USC men's volleyball head coach Jim McLaughlin, drop to 15-6 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
The win marks the Trojans' ninth victory over a ranked opponent and their 19th sweep overall this season.
Ross and Adams led with 15 and 12 kills, respectively, in addition to hitting at a .433 and .524 clip. Adams and Bibiana Candelas each posted six blocks, while Adams led with two service aces, Keao Burdine led with 12 digs and Toni Anderson led with 28 assists.

With an efficient offense, the Trojans got past Washington in the first two games with little difficulty. In each game, USC broke away at the 10-point mark and led by as much as 13 points in game one and seven points in game two.
But Washington gave the Women of Toy a run for their money in game three. Despite trailing by as much as four points at the start of the game, the Huskies managed to take their first lead of the match at 20-19. The two teams then alternated points through the next few rotations until a kill by Ross, following a Washington attack error, gave USC a two-point lead at 27-25. The small advantage gave USC the room it needed to finish off the game, 30-28.
USC returns to action tomorrow night (Nov. 1) against Washington State at 8 p.m. The match, starting immediately after the USC-Washington State Homecoming football game, will be played at the Lyon Center. Fans with a USC-WSU football game ticket will get in FREE.
