Washington Volleyball Falls To Top-Ranked USC

LOS ANGELES- The 10th-ranked Washington volleyball team (15-6, 6-6 Pac-10) dropped to top-ranked USC (21-0, 12-0 Pac-10) in straight games this evening, 30-18, 30-24, 30-28.

The Huskies and Women of Troy each tallied 54 kills in the match but USC held the advantage in hitting percentage (.398 vs. .254) and blocks (14 vs. 1) to run away with its 33rd straight victory dating back to last season.

Three Huskies had double figure kills, led by senior Kara Bjorklund with 15. Juniors Kaitlin Leck and Sanja Tomasevic added 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Tomasevic also chipped in 11 digs for her 10th double-double of the season.

Candace Lee led the UW defense with 10 digs, while Courtney Thompson recorded eight.

USC's April Ross and Emily Adams led the offensive charge. April led the Women of Troy with 15 kills, while hitting .433. Adams hit .534 with 12 kills and six blocks.

The Huskies return to action tomorrow night when No. 8 UCLA hosts a 7 p.m. match.
