ITA Indoor Nationals Right Around the Corner

Nov. 3, 2003

BERKELEY, Calif. - The 2003 ITA National Indoor Championships, the second of three national championships for collegiate tennis this season, will be hosted by the University of Michigan Nov. 6-9.

The ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the nation's premier collegiate indoor tennis tournaments for Division I men, will be hosted by Michigan at its Varsity Tennis Center for the first time after a nine-year stint with Southern Methodist University at the Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas.

Representing Cal in the elite field will be Conor Niland the ITA Northwest Regional Champion. Niland is 12-2 on the season and winner of 10 matches in a row. Niland came into the fall ranked No. 25 nationally, but is sure to be a 10 contender if he continues at the rate he is playing.

The native of Limerick, Ireland, will see the strongest collegiate competition you'll find, especially from ITA All-American champion Alex Vlaski of Washington.
