Goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart Named CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford All-American goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart has earned CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-District VIII honors for her athletic and academic achievements this season.
Barnhart, a redshirt junior from Gilbertsville, Pa., has tallied seven shutouts and 60 saves in 1,758 minutes of play this season for the Cardinal. She earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors on Oct. 21 for consecutive shutouts against No. 3 UCLA and USC. Barnhart currently tops the Stanford recordbooks for career goals against average (.404) and ranks third in shutouts with 29 in 47 career games.
In 2002, Barnhart set single-season Cardinal records in minutes played (2,047), total shutouts (18), goals allowed (four) and goals against average (0.189). During the summer of 2003, Barnhart competed for the Under-21 United States National Team in the Nordic Cup.
Barnhart, daughter of Rose Mary and Kimber Barnhart, is majoring in studio art and psychology.
