Three Stanford Divers Finish In Top Five On First Day Of Trojan Invite

Los Angeles, Calif. - Three Stanford divers placed among the top five in the 1-meter competition Thursday on the first day of the Trojan Diving Invitational. Cassidy Krug's third-place finish with 248.55 points in the final round paced the Cardinal, while Ashlee Rosenthal was fourth with 239.05 points and Brooke Sullivan fifth with 239.05. Sara Bowling (9th, 216.20) and Erin Lashnits (14th, 190.25) also competed for Stanford in the preliminary round.

'We had a really good day, and I'm excited,' said Stanford diving coach Dr. Rick Schavone. 'In particular, Cassidy Krug had an excellent performance for a freshman.'

USC's Nicci Fusaro won the women's 1-meter with a score of 262.75 in the final round.The Trojan Diving Invitational continues on Friday and Saturday with the women competing in the 3-meter and platform competitions, respectively. Prelims are slated both days to begin at 10:00 am, while finals start at 1:00 pm.
