Nov. 7, 2003

USC senior All-American Nicci Fusaro won her second consecutive event at the Trojan Diving Invitational while Hawaii's Michael Gowdy won his first on Friday (Nov. 7) at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium.

Fusaro, who won the 1-meter on Thursday, remained unbeaten during the young season with a first-place score of 468.85, edging Stanford's Ashlee Rosenthal, who finished with 465.60. Fusaro won despite a balk on her second-to-last dive that cost her 2.0 points off of the judges' score.

Rosenthal's Cardinal teammates Brooke Sullivan (438.25) and Cassidy Krug (437.40) took third and fourth, respectively. Trojan sophomores Tory Moreno (334.90) and Lindsay Draper (313.60) finished 14th and 15th, respectively.

Gowdy won the men's 1-meter with 302.40 points, ahead of Cal's Louie Gagnet, second with 290.95. His Bear teammate Robbie Quinn was third (285.95).

USC freshman Kenny Jenkins was the Trojans' highest finisher, taking fourth with 285.00 while junior Ray Vincent was fifth (272.40). USC freshman Michael Hilde took 10th (242.10).
